      JACQUI HYLTON BIO

Born with a passion to inspire and comfort through music, Jacqui Hylton captures audiences with her lush vocals and raw harmonic resonance. Her compositions blend jazz, pop and blues. Ms. Hylton writes vibrant melodies, generously supporting songs that touch the heart of human experiences, carrying messages of hope, love and simple truths.

Ms. Hylton independently recorded a fully produced song that she composed entitled "Beautiful" at Capitol and East West Studios in Los Angeles. Ms. Hylton worked alongside Oscar winning string arranger/conductor/composer David Campbell and a 22 piece string ensemble. The rhythm section contains the world’s finest musicians: Nathan East on bass (associated acts, Eric Clapton), Vinnie Colaiuta on drums (associated acts, Sting) and Tamir Hendleman (associated acts, Barbra Streisand) on piano.

Ms. Hylton has also received several years of training as an actor at The Malibu Stage Theatre. Notable performances playing the character of young attorney Susan in David Mamet's Race. Also, after studying the life of Billie Holiday, Ms. Hylton wrote a monologue combined with song which illustrated the sequence of events in Billie Holiday’s life which prompted Holiday to write God Bless The Child. Ms. Hylton's performance received special recognition from Oscar winning actor Lou Gosset Jr.

Ms Hylton also produced a tribute to the late great Oscar winning composer and NEA Jazz Master Johnny Mandel for local residents of Malibu at Savory Restaurant. Ms. Hylton sang six of Mandel’s greatest songs and was joined with Sunnie Paxson on keys and Carol Chaikin on woodwinds.

Ms. Hylton’s volunteer work in the community has included:  The Malibu Film Society, MJCS’ annual Purimspiel, The California Copyright Conference, Los Angeles Women in Music, Santa Monica Women in The Arts Program and as a tenor in Maria Newman’s Orchestra and Choir.
